Tolleson has appointed three, long-tenured leaders to key positions within the organization: Amy Armstrong to Chief Operating Officer (COO), Owen Smith to Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Courtney Pregler to Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).

Following the year-end retirements of Tolleson’s Chief Administrative and Compliance Officer Tracie Klein and Chief Operating and Technology Officer John Scheibe, Tolleson is proud to name a strong lineup of successors who will carry forward the legacy of excellence and client service.

“As we welcome Amy Armstrong, Owen Smith, and Courtney Pregler to their new roles, we look forward to their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas as part of our executive team,” said President and CEO Carter Tolleson. “Their experiences and dedication to Tolleson will certainly propel us towards further accomplishments in the years ahead.”

As COO, Amy Armstrong will combine the responsibilities of the former Chief Operating Officer and Chief Administration Officer roles. Previously Managing Director of Tax and Estate Planning on the Client Advisory Team, she brings 17 years at Tolleson and a diverse background in engineering, law, and accounting. In her COO role, she will oversee a range of teams and apply her strong skill set in strategizing and operationalizing processes.

Over the last decade, Owen Smith, CFP®, has been involved in nearly every technology application at the firm. He started his career at Tolleson as a summer intern in 2007 and later became an Analyst on the Client Advisory Team. His initial experiences in client advisory contributed to his expertise, which has been essential in his leadership of business operations management. In his role as CTO, he will oversee the entire Tolleson technology function.

Since joining the firm in 2013, Courtney Pregler has been an integral part of building out Tolleson’s compliance program, focused on meeting all regulatory standards and expectations. Courtney Pregler’s responsibilities as CCO will include oversight and management of the firm’s SEC and Trust Compliance programs. Courtney will also serve as Chairman of the SEC Compliance Committee, Co-Chair of the Risk Committee, and a member of the Trust Committee.

Tolleson has also promoted Peter Baldwin to Managing Director on its Investment Team and Haris Kopic to Director on its Client Advisory Team. Both impactful roles, these promotions will help continue a seamless and high-touch experience for clients.

All these leadership promotions come as part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening our leadership team and positioning Tolleson for continued growth and success in 2025 and beyond.
